Aluminium – for today and tomorrow
A young metal with growing influence
Makes it possible to integrate different technologies into one solution, e.g. in buildings
1/3 density of steel means lighter vehicles, lower energy consumption and reduced emissions
A superb conductor for heat and electricity, more cost efficient than copper, enabling energy-efficient systems for electrical transmission, such as transfer components
Aluminium can be made hard, soft, stiff, bendable, smooth, temperature resistant etc. depending on the actual need, by developing tailor-made alloys
Natural oxide layer protects the metal against corrosion and makes it virtually maintenance free
5% of original energy consumption 75% of all aluminium produced is still in use
Infinitely reusable – without loss of quality
of all aluminium ever produced is still in use
of original energy use to recycle
Recycling rates of aluminium used beverage cans in Germany
We make aluminium re-usable
again and again
We use the combination of primary metal and recycled aluminum. We have the aspiration to grow in recycling and to source primary metal as green as available. We are continuously decreasing the Carbon Footprint of its materials by responsible metal and raw material sourcing & increasing scrap usage. More than 50% of the worlds production, however, is based on coal and e.g. in China the share is even growing. We operate at emission levels of approx. 30% of world average. We managed to drop our primary metals emission level by 25% over the last 5 years.
Our label for particularly sustainable products
ORBIS. The truthfulness.
By using at least 75% recycled external scrap, we greatly reduce energy consumption without compromising on quality. Certified with a label, they stand for true sustainability and full transparency. This is also reflected in our product names.
Because being emission-free for our customers is a major concern for us.
